Existing Dam Maintenance
Dams need to be properly constructed and maintained.
All dams will need maintenance of some sort over time to enable the dam to store maximum water. MRE are experienced in all dam maintenance including de-silting, enlargement, repairs to wings and banks, replacement of fluming (inlet pipe), and modification of the by-wash (overflow).
Backwaters or silt traps are an essential and often overlooked component of a dam. However, when constructed well, these can be utilized to minimise silt intake and maintain the longevity and water capacity of your dam. MRE can also pump remaining water into the silt trap so you don’t lose this water when the dam is being de-silted.
